Initial research
This is part of the Futurist Movement manifesto, one of the most passionate movements ever born. Their main passion was speed and the motion of objects and also chaos and sound through artworks. The manifesto manages to reflect all this: chaos through the random placement of words, movement through the asymmetry and different sizeds and style of typography and sound through the multiple vowels which are written in bigger point size for effect.
The Manifesto on our right is very eye-catching due to its colout and white type. The way it was designed, using different fonts, round-edged boxes, caps and normal and different point size and thickness of text resulted in something that CAN be read with nodifficulty because there is still order alhough there is complete lack of space.

This is a surrealist manifesto in the form of an animation wherein the artist uses only one word to describe himself and his beliefs in a whole. He keeps it very basic, just a rough pencil sketch animated frame by frame and the subject, as is Surrealism itself, is very abstract and in fact there is not much to understand and this is why I did not like it much since it leaves it quite open to interpretation; not very recommended when trying to create an impact.

This is the Manifesto of Bell's Whiskey, where the only material is the Bell's whiskey bottle tap itself, mounted in thousands upon the walls and placed according to colour (yellow vs red) to create the words of the Manifesto. I really loved this example because the manifesto itself is integrating the whole concept of the company itself - the brewing of whiskey - into its form, character and design; it cannot be more stylized and personalised than this.
typography manifestos as inspirational sources
Since there are many kinds of manifestos, as a group we decided to divide them into 3: Typography Manifestos, Interactive Manifestos and Form Manifestos. I was given the Type Manifesto section and there are many different ones, some of which also integrate interactivity in order to be understood.
The above is an example where type, form AND interactivity act as one to create a beautiful manifesto. The instructions are on the base of the box, which on the outside is also full of words regarding inspirations and other info. It opens like a petal, with beautiful colour scheme and different fonts and also shapes and symbols which break the ongoing current of type at certain periods.i think this is a manifesto we should look up to because all the elements and how they were applied made it stand out to be discovered.
This is the Holstee Manifesto in type form. The original video interacts more with he user through the displaying of people doing what they like, and engaging together in sports activity.
This manifesto is an example where this time typography and form are working together. It is not a tangible form, however one can take a hint of at least what it is partly talking about just by glancing at the shape of the overall. The word THINK in capitals and much larger point size has created an immense effect and connected the whole type with the shape itself.
The form of this manifesto is really original, and again the palette of the Bauhaus is used which creates a lot of contrast. It is quite unorganised however the numbers help you through and even the different sizes and styles of type create certain effects which even bring out the meaning of the words.
I loved this Manifesto purely for its typography and the way it created such a harmony which is a feast for the eyes. The chosen fonts bring out not only the meaning but also the sense and feeling of the word written in that particular type, something which brings the manifesto to life and leaves nothing hidden from the viewer.

This is the modern manifesto of the Marxist society movement, and it uses red and black to increase emphasis on the sentences. I liked the way they played with typographical positioning in order to achieve a smooth ongoing animation which sheds the most light on the most important points and how simple illustrations were inserted at certain moments to break the typographical flow in a subtle manner.
I placed this manifesto here not only for its design and colours, which I both loved at once, but also for its content but for a different reason. Manifestos are known for their beautiful words from wise minds which have experienced tight situations and have recognized how to get through unscathed. In this case, it is quite a funny manifesto but witty at the same time, because through the exaggerated and imaginary (the manifesto itself points out) theoretical solutions written on it one is encouraged and understands the pure meaning of breaking the limits and making the impossible happen.

I created this presentation to introduce our manifesto to the tutor together with another member in the group.

change of plans
We changed plans again due to the time limit that we had present. Our idea is to show the workings of the mind of the art student, in a creative way. This is why I researched Goldberg's inventions for the group and defined a style, which afterwards was still not implemented since we left the final artwork as a sketch to be similar to Leonardo Da Vinci's technical drawings. The style that I proposed and everyone agreed with was to adopt colours from psychedelia, since they are bright and eye-catching. and with some understated humour regarding the our state of mind was in due to alcohol consumption.
